Building Out A Site

Looking to eventually build out an ecommerce site. Unfortunately, the development of the ecommerce part is going to take a few months. Was thinking of creating the site as an .html informational site until the ecommerce part is ready. Starting the link campaign, building out article pages, etc. Once the ecommerce part was ready, it would be placed on the site. Most of the copy that was on the homepage would remain and the other pages would be put into a news or faq section. Does anyone forsee any problems with this?

Yes this is a good idea to run site earlier. Just try to design it in such way that you do not have to remove pages later.
