    Blogger Scraping My Content

There is a local blog, who made a fake page saying we are a contributor to their blog and they have been scraping our blog posts. I want to turn this into an opportunity.

They are scraping our content, links and all. As they grab our content they are using our internal links, essentially creating keyword anchor text back links. Does this offset the fact they are duplicating our content? I'm guessing no but, want your thoughts. Should I have them remove the content?

I think the best bet is to reach out and actually become a contributor. Aside from them blatantly ripping off our content, it is a nice site, with a local audience. Maybe we could make unique articles for them that link back to us.

Anybody have any thoughts on how to approach this?

Whether you become their actual contributor or not, what they have now will remain duplicate content
So first thing first, I'd reach out to them and ask to give the original source its due credit using cross-domain canonical meta tag (this way whatever authority your content hosted on their domain gains is transferred to your site)

Depending on how they react, I'd consider working with them further (if they are good people) or filing a DMCA notice (if they are blatant thieves)
Everything will be ok in the end

If it's not ok, it's not the end

That sounds like a great idea. I'll have to see how they respond. Thanks for your help!
