Blog - on my site or on wordpress.

I'm looking for some do's and dont's about blogging right but what I find more challenging is deciding if to place the blog on my site (blog.mydomain.com) or user blogger/wordpress?

I have a lot of useful information for my users but I will also link once in a while to my site.

What do you suggest?

Put your blog in a sub-directory of your main site in a URL you own. This will offer the best benefit to your other pages on the same url.

Lots of features can be found using wordpress with a lots of plugins to work with. So if you are serious to customization, I suggest wordpress.

Blogger platform is great for simple blogging, it is very popular too but not as great as Wordpress in terms of features and support.

I go for sub-domain, it isolates problems between the blog and the main site. It is my preference.

if you are asking about which can be way effective, I must say both are quiet good, actually it doesn't matter, the thing is it is how you optimized it or promote it.

I don't care much about the way it'l look. I just want to know which is easier to optimize.

Sub domain shouldn't be a problem with some links that will link to the main domain. Don't you think that links from a "stand alone" domain should be more valuable?
