I honestly don't think there is any user bias against the other extensions, I think the general public just needs time to find accceptance of the others. Let's face it .com has been around a long time and the other extensions are relatively and not heavily used. If they were heavily used so that folks saw them more frequently they would be more readily accepted.

As for your question.... no the Engines don't care. They also accept them equally.
