Some cowboy sent me this today :-|
__________________________________ Are you sick of paying twenty cents or more per click through Overture or Google Adwords? Have you noticed that click-thru rates have gone way down? People are figuring out that "Sponsored Listings" means ADVERTISING. Wouldn't you rather have your site come up in the regular results area? www.seoperformance.net has the unique ability and relationships with the major search engines to guarantee top rankings for keywords that are most important for your company. All you do is get the traffic, leads, and sales. I would like to discuss with you in detail the nature of your business in order to have a better idea of exactly how we can best help. All The Best, Robert Fildman seoperformance.net ______________________________ <Major_Rant> The mind truly boggles. Apart from the guarantees that he cant make and the fact that he is lying through his teeth with "unique ability and relationships with the major search engines.." Take a look at the website, The head area consists of primarily Code:
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0"> <meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <title>SeoPerformance</title> Impressive eh? Doesn't that one page site instill a feeling of competence and ability from seoperformance.net?! As you can no doubt sense; such emails and corresponding laughable sites that are behind them p*ss me off royally. It's cowboys like this that give professional search engine marketing companies (my own included) a bad name. The sad thing is, there are many naive webmasters out there who may well fall for this con. All he does is either use trusted feed or uses sponsored listings himself. Clearly they have not the first clue about traditional search engine optimization. If anyone has received an email from these coyboys then for goodness sake ignore it. I know most who read here are clued up enough to ignore such tosh anyway, but just in case. </Major_Rant> Alan |
