Question Backlinks Question

I know of course how to find what sites are linking to any given web site.

But is there a tool that will tell you what the anchor text is for each individual backlink?
So, for "Keyword 1", I want to know how many more backlinks with "Keyword 1" as the anchor
text that my competitors have, so I'll know precisely how many more to get to catch and ultimately pass them by.

Thanks.

Hi spacecadet!

Welcome to these forums

PR Weaver (a PageRank and backlinks analyzer software) may be very helpful for your needs.
It allows you to retrieve the anchor texts (and image ALT texts) of all the backlinks of your competitors.

Try it and tell me if that's what you're looking for?

Best,
PR Weaver

Well, I would try that tool; but I don't want to re-install the Google Toolbar. Since I got rid of the toolbar, it has done wonders for my rankings. I don't like having Google spying on what sites I visit and what tools I use to check for future trends, etc. Of course that would tip off the people at Google that I am into SEO.....

Why not use Opera or Mozilla for things you do not want Google to know you are into. The ability to open up new pages in tabs is reason enough to switch. I use Explorer when I DO want google and alexa to track what Im doing.

Why don't you install the non-spying version of Google toolbar?

That's what I've been saying too. Keep the toolbar, lose the PR indicator etc. Use the Ggl dir to check your PR now and again (until they stop updating that one as well).

You got your SERP go up just by uninstalling the google toolbar?

Or just turn off the toolbar temporarily under View > Toolbars instead of disabling the pagerank features.

Unless he/she can say they uninstalled the google toolbar and made absolutely no all-page changes and all backlinks status remained the same (no new links, no removed links, etc) over a period of 2 months and saw SERPs increase, I won't believe that statement at all.

It is more likely some things were changed, more links added, on-page text changed, more pages added with more backlinks to homepage, etc. All these things can change results.
