    Back Links...

I've been told here that I should submit my website to open directory websites.
Where I can those? I'm not sure I understand why?

    Thank you for your help!

I think what people are referring to is the Open Directory Project which is www.dmoz.com but pay special attention to the rules as they are very important. You may also want to browse that category of this forum first to get a handle on it.

In addition you should be submmiting your site to directories of all kinds. For a decent start try the Directories-Other category on this forum for a thread that is listing a lot of them

    Good Luck

I already sent my website to DMOZ.
    I tried to find a list of'em but... I couldn't - I'll try again.

    Thanks for your help!

Try for example the list in this post:
    http://forums.seochat.com/showpost.php?p=136764&postcount=66

But that thread holds even more directories, some free, some not.

In addition, try the keywords +"add url" and all its variants to get even more backlink possibilities in your field...

Thanks for the list Wit. Looks good.

What do you mean by "try the keywords +"add url" and all its variants to get even more backlink possibilities in your field..."

    Where should I try it?

    I mean, Google for:

    widgets +"add url"
    widgets +"submit link"

    etc.

or try the same searches on Yahoo, MSN or whatever, if you target these search engines...

Example - if you're into candles:

    http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=candle s+%2B%22add+url%22&btnG=Search

...and visit every one (?) of those pages... Chances are you can submit your site and get a link...
