Article Submission - Worth A Shot?

Hello,

I am trying to really launch the exposure of a client who is low on the search totem pole at the moment.

Does anyone have any experience with writing and submitting articles to get the word out? Have these been helpful for SEO?

Any experience you can share will be great!

Thanks,

Fravely

I believed they are not as important as before, what I suggest is to have articles being published in the site in a continuous basis, then market those well written articles.

It might attract targeted traffic and earn natural links which can help rankings of those sites.

SubmitYourArticle.com

I have never had any experience with SubmitYourArticle.com. However, I have used a competitor of theirs, www.ArticleMarketer.com, which was not really worth it at all. ArticleMarketer claims to submit your article to thousands of sites, but I don't believe a word of it. Plus, they make you remove all quotation marks and other punctuation markers from your articles.

I have had better luck at manually submitting articles to Buzzle, ArticleDashboard, and EzineArticles.

If you're going to write, have them write, or outsource the writing to someone else... you are better to keep the literature for the site being promoted and acquire social bookmarks... then you only give away the title and still get a link.

Course if the literary works "SUCK" then rightly so - they shouldn't be caught dead with crap on their website... give it away as fast as possible.

I've used an article writing service in India before to write a few articles and post them on blogs. It worked well for me - got me lots of backlinks and I didnt really care about the quality of the writing. If you want more than backlinks I would ask to proofread everything first.

Articles are an amazing way to get backlinks, in my own experience I have had great success with this method. Case in point, I have recently begun working for a client based in the construction field, I wrote 4 articles related to this field and then put them up on Ezine Articles. About a month or so later those articles are now page rank 4,3,3,2. Ezine articles allows 3 self serving links to your webpage in your articles. That is 3 page rank 4 backlinks, 6 page rank 3 backlinks, and 3 page rank 2 backlinks! Not to mention Google will see these as authority links because of the content found in the article. It would cost a lot of money to buy those kind off links that will last for a long time.

I wrote about this on my blog, but they do not allow you to share the address (I believe) so pm me if you want.
