Are Search Engines Perverting The Natural Course Of Web Development?

I agree that Search Engines are incouraging the use of less media rich content. I do however hope that with the increased attention on Search Engines and their technologies, that this will become an issue that is addressed.

I know of many media rich sites that rank well because of Link Pop but your right it isn't the media content that gets these sites ranked. Companies right now have to rely on dynamic advertising to attract visitors and big brand names to attract links.

Maybe this is a project you could start. An open source media content search engine that spiders the media content...:-D
