Are index pages weighted more heavily?
I'm thinking that index pages are weighted more heavily than other pages, but I'm not positive. I mean this in terms of sub-directories.
That www.domain.com/boogers/ will do better than www.domain.com/boogers.html because the file in the subdirectory is an index file. Thoughts? -Greg

i think that directory structures dictate that the directory level pages would get more inbound links and thus get more weighting naturally, but I do not think search engines give extra weight to a page because it is an index.htm or default.asp etc..

You are on the right track...think sub domains...
