    apache redirects https to http

My struggle with apache redirects is back. I just redid a website that forced https on all pages no matter what. The new site only uses https on pages where sensitive information is entered. I don't think I can do an across the board redirect rule, because I still use https on a few pages. The URL structure has changed entirely from "https://www.example.com/category.php?id_category=123" to "http//www.example.com/category/sub-cat.html".

I usually put all my redirects in my web admin where I set up my vhosts. I have one for the regular port 80 and one for the 443. with these redirects going from one to the other, I'm not even sure where to put this redirect at all.

    Sorry for my n00b-ness.

You can put redirection rule in .htaccess file in root folder of your website.

Hope following rule will help you, anyway you need to edit it specifically for your category page

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTPS} on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
