301 redirect and holding traffic/SERP positions
I plan to move to a new CMS (original textpattern 1.0 to new MistCMS) and change my urls from /postnumber/postname to simply /postname.
The pages generate revenue and are currently PR3-PR4. I am worried that even by using 301 redirects I will lose my 1st page positions in Google and lose traffic.
What can I realistically expect using 301 redirects in terms of holding/losing SERP positions & PR?

If done correctly, 301 redirects will hold positions you have earned.

The pages may lose their positions in the SERPs temporarily while the SEs verify the new pages. This can take up to 6 months in some cases.
