301 Redirect

Does 301 redirected 500 mortgage related domains to 1 single website help or hurt ?

Will search Engines Penalize?

Will Search Engines Index ?

Not perfectly sure but 500 domains suddenly pointing to one might not help very much right off the bat. Besides, how much benefit you can get depends on a lot of factors. But one thing's for sure: it won't hurt (unless the domains are spammy and you're identifiably related to them).

There are a few things to consider here.

Are these 500 genuine unique content web sites that are still on line?

Do they have lots of links poitning to them?

Has or will the WHOIS change when you 301 redirect them?

If the WHOIS changes then it is almost pointless. If not it could be benneficial.

A 301 will always carry the weight over so initial gains will be helpful as long as they are decent genuine sites being redirected.

I would recomend a staged approach to this tactic though.

Answers to above questions

1- Whois will not change

2- There is virtually no content on the website. Just Parked pages

3- No links are pointing to them so all traffic comes from direct type in traffic

Does that change anything ?

That gives virtually no SEO bennefit what so ever.

Unless you are expecting some serious traffic to those domains I would suggest that you do not do this.

All sites have links from Who Is scrappers.

I get listed in google for the domian name - .com .org .net all the time without getting any other links

Might help give it a try and let us know

One thing to consider is if those 500 domains violates Google quality guidelines like those domains are just like mirror domains one after another or offer no substantial value. It may end up problem in Google.

You can 301 redirect them to your permanent location or new site. But do not forget to file a Google reinclusion request for this and state all those domains there and your purpose in doing redirects , such as avoiding mirror domains.
