    2 questions regarding redirecting

    Hello everyone.

I have a wordpress.com blog and I am in the process of moving it to wordpress.org

The domain will be different - in wordpress.com it has "wordpress" in the URL and in wordpress.org it
will have its stand alone domain.

my question is how does the redirecting work - once I sign up to it in wordpress.com does the site in
wordpress.com AUTOMATICALLY go off the air? or do I need to do that separately?

also, do I link up manually each page to page? like "home page" to "home page", "contact" to "contact
    and etc?

and finally, and most important question of all - what happens to all the seo indexing? does google
index the ranking of the new URL just like the old one?

    love to hear from you.

well ,,,, Go to 'Settings' in the WordPress admin menu and then click on 'Website Redirect'. Enter the URL you want to redirect the site to, set the desiredre direction type, set the status to 'Enabled' and save your changes

Once you have the redirects in place, all of your rankings should transfer to the new site.

Provided you have done everything properly, you will only see a drop in rankings temporarily, maybe for a week.
If you have never failed in your life, you have never achieved anything Noteworthy !

So is your problem solved? domain is redirected?
Make sure the redirection is 301 and not 302! 301 is permanent redirection and another is temporary. 301 will pass the link juice.

No you don't need to use 301 redirect for every pages. You need Just use in header of home page and your site is completely redirect from .com to .org.

There is also a domain mapping trick, which I find still works, but WordPress states that it’s a little complicated.
