Optimizing Websites With Minimal Text.
Optimizing Websites With Minimal Text.
2003-07-14 - It is often a preference of the designer to use very little text on a website, but is it possible to achieve good rankings for those pages in search engines? The answer is yes, but you should follow the guidelines outlined in this document if you wish to succeed. Please discuss this article in this thread. You can read the article here . |

I know the article was discussing a less than ideal situation, but I feel the writer should have differentiated more between "can" and "should" in the following comments.
Alt and Title attribute: *As for what you should put into these tags, well the wisest choice is some keywords, although they are normally only to be used in order to describe the item to which they are assigned.* Comment tags: *These are easily created and can be filled with keywords, although please understand then I've not said spammed with keywords.* |

The top site for one of my main keywords is #1 on all the major SE's and uses this form of meta tags <meta content="Put the description of your web page in herename="description" name="description"> Does anyone know if it makes any difference which is put first, content or name? |

Well according to G, you can use the <noframes> tag to add text, even if the page isn't in frames!
You can follow this surprise development in the thread "The Academy of Web Specialists" in http://www.ihelpyouservices.com/forums/ It's in the Spam and Ethics forum, though I warn you it's pretty long ;-) Last edited by glengara : July 20th, 2003 at 04:37 AM. |

Using a no frames tag on a site not built in frames is total bull **** resulting in a spam ban so there!

That's the received wisdom Mal, but were you not also surprised by the answer from G?

proper HTML
the alt attribute can be used with the image tag and title attribute with the anchor tag.
This is proper Wc3 specs. this is invalid HTML <img src="/directory/image.jpg" alt="ALT Text " title="Title Text"> |
