Is Linkbait Good or Bad?

The term “linkbait” has been around at least since 2005. Nick Wilson is sometimes credited with coining the term. It’s a great way to lure visitors to your site, but some SEO authorities now claim that it’s not such a good idea. Who’s right?

I think Linkbait is a googd idea. it is not a black seo technique.If you have killer content and anyone bookmark it then its good for your site.

I think it depends on the purpose and the intention of link baiting.
imo, a site/link/page that is worth linking to is good

Link bait isn't a bad idea. But I want to know one thing,.
Some SEOs sometimes copy my site's articles and put the content in their webpages. Of course thay are giving credit to my site through the links present in the articles. Is this also LinkBait or a Theft ?
