There are roughly two billion people on the planet who use mobile devices. A large percentage of these devices are Internet-enabled. Most people who use the Internet use search engines. What do you get when you do the math?

a LARGE percentage have ENABLED. How many of them use it? A fraction, how many sites are WAP compatible, a fraction. Two fractions is a smaller fraction. When the cost of browsing on a mobile goes down, then I'll worry about it. Something to consider, just not today.

Agreed, I know 90% of my friends have internet ready mobile devices. I too know that none of them use it for anything outside of email and the odd cinema lookup or something similar.

Although, the time of cheap/free mobile broadband is creeping up on us like pneumonia in the antarctic, Orange now offering broadband to their contract customers, so my guess it be only a matter of months before this will be an issue we need to consider.

Mobile broadband should definitely change things. It may be a matter of months, it may be a year, but since it takes some time to launch any kind of campaign or make changes, it's good to start thinking about it...well, if not now, certainly soon. In my humble opinion, anyway.

If you haven't thought about it your behind the game. Before it was WAP, now more power and speed mean ...... well what does it mean?
