2003-07-14 - As Google increases in popularity, so does this term "PR0", pronounced "PR Zero". I'll explain what it means, and how you can get yours!!

There are a couple of things--

Sometimes PR0 will show even though the site doesn't really have it, so no need to panic. The toolbar doesn't always accurate show it anymore. You can sometimes use the toolbar to show the cached page, then click your back button, to get the proper PR to show.

Also, you can recover from PR0, in the last 6 months we've gone from SearchKing Penalty lows to PR7 triumph on Direct Textbook. It's not fun, it's not easy, but it is possible.

Good article though, maybe this can turn into a refuge from the noise and misinformation of WebmasterWorld.

Glad to see you like the article. You are indeed correct that the toolbar doesn't really show accurate PR's anymore when the PR is 0. It seems that the PR no longer is "guestimated", if a page on a site is unknown is seems to get PR0 regardless.

one assumption in the article is incorrect. Sites with a dynamic web page system (eg: ecommerce or CMS sites) will have most pages get a pr0 yet can still do quite well on SERPs.

I don't believe this was the case when the article was dated, so it'd be worth noting that.
