Google Feature Raises Legal, Privacy Issues
Unless you're not on the Internet, you can hardly have missed the brouhaha being raised over the latest upgrade to Google Desktop Search. It's marvelously convenient to be able to search all of the computers you own for the file you need, regardless of what computer you're presently working on. But is it worth the privacy you must give up to use it?

Very scary.
If a hacker gets into one computer they can get into everyone. All security and all user awareness needs to be assesed and raised before companys get into things like this. The future is looking very bleak security wise as the internet gets more personalised. |

It *is* kind of scary. I'd like to hear what sort of safeguards Google has in place to prevent this from happening. I mean, I know they can't go into too much detail for security purposes, but I'd feel better if I knew how much consideration went into this.

When you tell google that you think you have had one of your google accounts hacked and you ask for the ip, you get an automated reply relating to fraudulent clicks.
Even if you are hacked google wont acnowledge it. |
