I am using blogger and it places html files on my server.

They get spidered quickly by google... and I have never repeatedly gotten new pages into yahoo and msn so quickly.

Tonight I am installing a blog as the homepage on one of my sites.

Blogs are definitely crawled on the same schedule, as a similarly updated static website, with similar PageRank.

The links on blogs are treated in the same manner as Google treats all links. In fact, because the links embedded in the blog postings are usually theme related, to the receiving site, they are given more weight.

In essence, a blog is a website that offers what the search engines really want, in the form of fresh content and lots of links.

A blog is treated the same way as other websites, except that blogs are usually updated more frequently. Because of that updating regularity, blogs are rewarded for the fresh content.

The free and generous linking practices of bloggers are rewarded as well.
