Wayne,

There're definitely some risks for duplicate content. Google's algorithm for identifying similar pages is very primary. Once search engines are able to identify duplicate content (not just deplicate pages), it's likely that they will display the page with highest PR if there're many pages with duplicate content. This is likely the page published on e-zines, not the page available on auther's Web site.

2 cents,

The worst case scenerio is the author has some added, but ignored by the search engines content on the home site. It is still of value to the site visitors.

On the other hand, an article appearing in other locations provides links back to the website, and potentially some additional visitor traffic. Articles also establish the author as an expert in the field, creating additional spinoff benefits.

If Google and the other search engines choose to provide no additional PageRank, or improvement in the SERPs, all is not lost. Another possibility is one article is not always going to be what is considered duplicate content, especially if it is only a very small percentage of the overall website.

There remain many advantages, even if in the worst case scenerio, the search engines fail to credit the articles.

A great article cheers. Makes me wonder how many SEO people team/work with a copy writer?

Regards, S

Some SEOs are good copywriters themselves and some team with copywriters.

Some do not and fail to benefit fully from both content and optimization.

Of course, many webmasters employ neither writers or SEOs, and suffer low rankings and sales, as a result.

[QUOTE=ponpots]Alli got to say is wow and thanx Wayne 8). That was great. I was also making my mind to write articles for backlinks as well as content so this have given me a great help. QUOTE]

Keith, one of the best things about writing internet articles is they can even be picked up as content on competitors' sites. As those sites are often unlikely to link to your site any other way, you get a real boost toward an authority site.

While on the subject of authority, article writing estabishes you as an expert in your field of business. Often, people from within and outside your industry will refer to you and your articles, in print and live.

Best wishes on your articles, Keith!
