Article Discussion: I Thought Florida was a State?

This week on SEO Chat we'll be taking a close look at the "Florida Update." In this second article Justin delves into the why of why Florida happened as well as looking at some of the new changes from a compare/contrast stand point. "Something has happened to Google! The ambiguously nicknamed 'Update Florida' has been realized. Is the latest step in the Google Dance good or evil? How does it affect you and me? How do we learn to work with the new filter?"

Guys, I mean no disrespect for the author, but nothing in this article has made any sense to me. It should have been written in November then it would have caught my eye. The URL he mentioned only had 15 backlinks. I still say we are looking for this HUGE, MAJOR, BIG TIME "filter" but the answer is right infront of us.
What did Marissa say???? Who is linking to you!!!! That means exactly that. Get more sites (optimized for your keywords) to link to you and I am sure Florida will become history. Ummm I hope so...

Seems to me that instead of Google throwing out more spammers, it just got worse. When I run a search for "used cars san diego" I get nothing but crap-and-hyphenated-spam-sites!

Right now , Google has finished their florida update or not? If It finished , how about affiliate site because I saw many of affiliate has been top ranking (1-10 position)? If they drop , what kind of website instead of affiliate site? If talk about Hotel Reservations industry, Affiliate site is making a lot of money for hotel supplier , why google try to cut out that? Please share the idea about Affiliate.
