Thanks for another great article, Wayne.

Can you tell me if there are any search engines that focus on the content of blogs? For example... If I wanted to find blog content for "cross country skiing" where would be the best place to start?

I would say the most complete blog search engine is Technorati.

It has indexed most of the millions of blogs, and is searchable by keywords and keyword phrases.

I find it to be quite up to date as well as its spiders crawl and index most blogs on a daily basis. I check for daily updates from them, for new links to my blogs, and their spider is far more active than some of the better known mainstream search engines.

I just checked it out and found a little activity related to my area of business. I am encouraged.

Just one more question... there are lots of blogging systems out there... are there one or more that you really like and recommend to folks who want to blog in conjunction with a business website... and do any of them come with indexing-by-topic tools?

Two blogging systems that I have seen integrated into an overall website are Word Press and Movable Type.

I use Google owned free Blogger, but I wouldn't recommend it for a serious business site. I have seen it used in that manner successfully, however.

I use free Blogger because it's free. Besides, it's kinda fun and a challenge to work around Blogger's many obvious limitations. Blogger has got much better since its recent updates though. :-)
