it's definitely overhyped. blog is just a easy way for people to publish on the web.

I hate to tell anyone thier wrong. Why are blogs good for now. Anyone using one to market thier product or site correctly will see several advantages. Indexing quicker on Y and M to a lesser extent G. I have seen Y pick up new content in under 24 hours using blogs that are marketed corectly. I have also seen the same results without an rss feed but it is far less likely to happen especially with a new site. Higher rankings of those pages and site. If it can be proved otherwise I will quit wasting my time on the blogs I frequently post to.
The key point here is marketed correctly just throwing up a blog and waiting for traffic will not cut it. |

reapr - I agree, you have too use the blog correctly for it too be effective. But when you do it's a very nice compliment too any site.
