Thumbs up SEO advice for www.TavernTrove.com

    Hi everybody,

I would like to get some feedback on how best to optimize my website http://www.TavernTrove.com. it is an .asp-based site. There is a ton of unique content in the database, yet the content doesn't show up in search engines at all. What needs to be done? Thank you!

The first thing that jumps out at me is the fact that you are using Javascript to jump to categories off of the main page. Even if you cant get something like ISAPI_Rewrite or a 404-rewrite trick going, you should at the very least have individual pages for each of your categories (even if the category ID is in the querystring of one page).

Search engines can not comprehend Javascript well (if at all). So you are basically wasting precious linking to your category pages.

    Thumbs up Thank you!

    Thank you!

I will forward your advice to my web guy.

So what about all the content deeper inside on the item pages - the brewery names (There are nearly 1000 listed) and the other information on specific item pages (of which I have nearly 8000)? All this content is invisible to search engines! How can I make it visible?

I have plans this winter to create dynamic html-based brewery history pages. I wont bother if they will not be able to be seen outside my site. I have to believe there is a solution.

    Hi Tavern Trove,

Personally, I love your website. I think your site is one of the better ones I've ever come across. I have saved it in my favorites.

    Thanks
