I've Noticed that there Wasn't Much On Facebook Advertising

Has anybody tried using Facebook to advertise their products? (Like actually using their PPC advertising?) I'm pretty sure it's a bit different compared to advertising on AdWords, but I haven't really tried it myself before. I was wondering what's different about each of the platforms, and maybe some tips on how to get started.

I was just about to ask this. I do see more companies promoting now through Facebook and Facebook gives promotions with free credit now occasionally. Have they made tweaks to make this more efficient for companies?

Facebook campaigns do good as far as conversion for my site. I also set to .16 CPC, not bad. You can also do some pretty good targeting. I am trying the option now where you can download member ids from groups and fan pages and only show your ads to them, that's pretty good targeting. It's another method to add to my CPC advertising budget.

I love this, lol. It does ring true, Google has an extremly well thought out strategy of when they present their ads. (depending upon the SEO that is, and how they set up the campaign) FB drops in it anywhere, and most people don't set interests as a filter when setting up ads for FB.

Google activates an ad when someone is searching for something related, or exact. FaceBook drops it in someone's newsfeed, regardless if they were looking for it or not. I'm not sure you could compare the two directly.

It can be done but you need some budget to test all the variables. There's a book called 'killer facebook ads' which is good.

    • GabrielG agrees : A large budget. I wouldn't start with under $1000.

I think Facebook has amazing targeting options comparing to AdWords. Having a FB page and an ad campaign might bring you a nice amount of sales

My company tried using FB Ads, and it performs quite well actually. Maybe our country (Indonesia) habit can the reason.
