I have used Google extensively and have a good understanding of it but clients are enquiring about trying Yahoo Search and MSN too, Does anyone have any facts/figures or experience of these as nto sure whether to delve into these engines or just stick with Adwords?

Google is the obvious choice in terms of potential volume but is let down by very high click prices and much steeper competition.
In my experience Yahoo does tend to actually convert better than Google but has seriously less traffic, so you have to weigh up the campaigns potential spend to actual work it would take to build and optimise. Msn i have pretty much found to be a waste of time in terms of traffic and think the MSN spend is much better used on Google or Yahoo. Of course the above is based on my observations from a UK based perspective :-) |

MSN and Yahoo together will bring you about 50% as much traffic as you get on Google. Depending on your industry, you will likely find that one or the other of them offers better CPAs for you.
If you contact Yahoo directly, they are usually willing to do a one-time bulk upload of your whole AdWords campaign into Yahoo. Same on MSN. But if you have to set everything up manually from scratch, it's probably not worth your time. |
