Why does every mistake have to cost me money :(
Adsense Lesson Number 400:
The leading word in your url carries more weight than your content. **For the sake of this argument names have been changed so as to protect my niche** OK, I built a really nice website hypothetically named www.webdental.com it is a website you could go to for dental needs. Anyways after finishing boatloads of original content and meta crap etc etc. I turn on the adsense hoping to see dental ads. NOPE I got web dev ads. Now, the ONLY thing I can figure is that the word "WEB" is being picked out of my url, sucks to be me, need to think of a new name now |

no you do NOT have to change your domain name... you have to fine tune your pages a little.
Here are a few things to make the ad network know what your content is REALLY about: - <title> Your page title should contain ONLY the subject of the page, no other words... if you're doing dental then the title should say "dental resources & dentistry" - <h#> Headers!!! Don't under-estimate them. Use a header to re-enforce your title. Your header text should be similar to the title. - META tags. Use keywords meta tag, and description... again use your keywords and don't dilute them. - ALT tags on images also help And when all else fails, make sure the actual page is named after the topic: dental_equipment.html I guarantee you will start to see dental ads (or whatever it is your site is about).

How log has the site been serving adsense ads?
I own a bunch of domains and when I pull one from the pool and put real content on it, it takes quite a while for adsense to stop serving ads related to the previous content.

give it a week or two
give it some time google will check what ads are clicked on and show more of them. So sooner or later you will get dental ads (beside web ads) and if people click on them they will show up more and more ! I had this problem myself and it took 1 1/2 weeks to show some related ads and some time after that the ads where 100% on topic.
