Time of day when people buy

Hello All,

I was reviewing month to date order activity and noticed that most of our orders were between 7:00am and noonish. Then the rest seemed to be late in the afternoon before people were getting off work. Our target market is mainly women.

Anyone else notice any of these trends? I'm thinking about turning off my ppc advertising each day around 7-8pm since most of those people seem to just be surfers who aren't ordering... or possibly they wait to order the next morning.

Any thoughts or other findings?

Hey utopianliving,
It depends on what PPC service you are using, In case of overture - turning off the add is instant, and so is with Google Adwords. But for FindWhat you might have a problem.
After having said that, if you traffic peaks at that specific time and you are not dependant on geographic locations of your clients. Then its an sane decision to do so.

On the other hand if you prospective clients are from all around the US and the world, then you might have keep adding funds to your account to keep it online all the time. You can also try to optimize your website for the keywords you are looking. I'm sure the groups here will have some kind of feedback for you.

Hope this helps.
Farees

selling med

I would say that in selling pharma, noon and late night are the biggest active hours

We get most of ours during business hours.

I'm starting to get more at night though, which is nice.

I agree with EGOL as far as the weekend goes. I have a friend that I maintain his adsense and adwords accounts for. He sells vintage toys so on slow weekends I shut off his Adwords. We found hits were down and he got a lot of silly email questions from kids on weekends.

I think that during some of the "slow" times, business is still occurring... people are bookmarking and shopping... only to come back at a later time to close the sale.

I agree. I get orders throughout the day and week so shutting anything off could possibly lose some business.

Our busiest are on Monday afternoons. I guess everyone's doing what I'm doing at work.

Send a message via AIM to jfontestad
That's when I would usually run Ads on Mondays & Wednesdays from 7am til about 1pm.
I've received my best results from those time-frames. Nothing espectacular but they
were pretty good for me.
