The Sex.com Story...

Just thought i'd drop a note in here to remind those in
the UK that the Sex.com story is on Channel 5 (!) tonight
at 23:20.

You know the one, about who owned the rights to the domain etc.

I believe he is insinuating gothman is posting short/irrelevant comments for the sole purpose of reaching 100 posts.

Great I wanted to post a question about what sex.com was?
I never heard the story. I guess I wasn't awake on that one.

I am afraid of posting because I am on post 101 and did not want to be accused of posting a small amount of information.

Doah...I guess I solved my own problem.

Now back to the story....what happend with sex.com, I am in the US and I am blessed by not having cable TV.

Could someone post a brief summary of the story? I would love to hear about it... I'm sure sex.com domain would of sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars...

Yes it's old news, but this was a program filmed within the last few
weeks by a British TV station.

I started the thread to alert UK readers that it to be shown on TV for the first time

I still think back to years and years ago when all the good domains were out there and how much I could have cleaned up if I had just invested everything into top notch domain names. I mean Sex.com could have thrown up a parked page and been able to live very well. Although back then domains didn't come cheap.

I bought a bunch of domains at $35 each starting around '96 ? Were .com names ever any more than that?
