Quality score applies to entire account or to individual landing pages?
Hi
I have always assumed that quality score was attributed to the landing page that an individual ad was pointing at. However I have come across a case where someone (unknown) is paying for PPC ads that point to a charity. This has come up because the charity in question is wanting to know who is buying ads for them, because it certainly isn't them. So looking at this it is either someone being very philanthropic OR it is someone trying to raise their quality score.. and if they are doing it this way it would suggest that quality score is account wide and not just landing page or landing site wide. Anyone able to give any weight to this theory? cheers c5 |

If your talking about Googles Quality score i think the score has to do with relavincy between your keyword and you text ad.

from: http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=49174 "Search advertising is a dynamic, evolving marketplace, and your keyword's Quality Score and keyword status can fluctuate. We continually monitor the performance of all ads, keywords, and landing pages in our system to reward high quality ads and encourage advertisers to improve low quality ads. For example, if your keyword performs well and your Quality Score increases, your minimum CPC bid will be lowered" The Landing page is also included.. So the question I am asking is this : "Is quality score account wide or is it calculated at a lower level" and I ask in the light of some big players in PPC buying ad's for charities in what we believe is an attempt to improve their account quality score so they can lower their CPC on their commercial terms for other sites. |

The Adwords quality score takes into account: the keywords > ad > the landing page.
Your charity example: If the ad is pointing to the charity page... the only beneficiary is the charity. The buyer is receiving no benefit.
