Wisdek Scam

Nathan08, I apologize if you are legitimate, your reply sounded like the two salesguys that already posted to this thread.

Unfortunately there's a Pattern to the Wisdek Scam, first get the customer listed on Google, then tell them they aren't showing up because they have logged in too many times, then when the customer wants to cancel they continue to bill (automatic credit card withdrawal) and refuse to refund the full amount when discovered.

If your post is legit I'd still like to confirm the references, if they gave them to you they should be public domain and wouldn't mind being contacted to confirm their wonderful service.

Update from Google

I was contacted today by Wisdek by their rep who claimed they were contacting me "on behalf" of Google. Since my company spends a considerable amount on Google Adwords, I contacted our Google representative to get input directly from Google.

Here is Google's reply - "...[I] as you can see quoted on the above site, "Google Advertising Professionals operate independently as AdWords advertisers, and are not employed, endorsed, approved by or agents of Google. Qualification is not an endorsement of those Advertising Professionals by Google, but only an indication that those Advertising Professionals have met the criteria listed here."

Also, their claim that they can offer AdWords advertisers a 'flat rate' to appear in the top sponsored links is not credible. As you know, ad rank is determined by the CPC bid times the Quality Score, and only ads that exceed a certain Quality Score and CPC bid threshold may appear in these top positions over the natural search results. Since Quality Score makes up half of Ad Rank, a certain position therefore cannot be simply 'bought,' especially at a 'flat rate.' In addition, the actual PPC paid will depend on the dynamic nature of each auction that takes place when a user searches on a keyword."

At best, I would put Wisdek into the category of "shady" and my suggestion to all you advertisers is to spend your money wisely - if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I was also contacted today

I was also contacted today (5 December) by Wisdek who claimed they were calling "On Behalf of Google". I quizzed them on this and they pointed me to their site and the Google Adwords qualified link on their site. They then explained to me that the new location that it linked to was a Google address and that was what they meant by on behalf of Google. I left it at that.

Anyway he claimed he could get me to the top of the left hand listings for a competitive keyword within 40 minutes not using adwords and it wouldn't cost me anything. I said why not. That was 30 minutes ago, I'll keep you posted!

Update

The guy called back and asked me to log into Google and search for my keyword. I found my listing at the top of the sponsored links. I informed him that he told me that he wasn't going to use Adwords. He said it wasn't adwords, it was a fixed price guaranteed listing in the sponsored links. I said those links are just the top paid results for adwords. He said its not adwords it is a programmed called "Premium Sponsored Links" co-developed between his company Wisdek and Google. I think not.
