Pay Per Click (PPC)
Hi guys,
I’m new to pay per click (PPC) advertising, but am eagerly learning from a lot of your previous posts and from other websites. I have a few questions that I hope some of you maybe able to help me out with, or if not at least point me in the right direction. (Please excuse any ignorance on my half) 1) I have been reading a lot about Google’s AdWords and Overture’s PPC Programme. Firstly, which is bigger - Google or Overture? 2) Is it worth looking at other PPC advertising websites other than Google and Overture? I am not too concerned about the cost of each PPC advertisement (within reason), but more concerned that the advertisement is viewed by as many people within my target audience as possible. However, from what I can gather it seems that Google and Overture seem to have an overwhelming majority as there’s not much mention of other PPC programmes. 3) I have found ‘Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool’ very helpful. Is there a tool similar for Google that displays the number of searches for previous months on certain key words? 4) My website is based in Australia and is targeted at Australian residents only. I understand that Google & Overture allow me to restrict my advertising to Australian residents only (please correct me if I’m wrong) ... ...At the moment, I am trying to establish how many times relevant key words may be searched for under Google and Overture, not just in total, but specifically by Australian residents. Is there any tool that could give me any indication at all about how many times particular keywords are searched for by people in my country, either on Google or Overture? If not, is there any way I may be able to estimate? Thanks a lot for reading this far! Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated |

Yes there are many but click fraud filtering is a grey area with most. I use Enhance, 7Search, LookSmart, Kanoodle and just recently have been testing ABCSearch, although I'm getting alot of non-US traffic. 3) I have found ‘Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool’ very helpful. Wow, thanks for all the info!
It seems like WordTracker is definately worth the investment. You said that WordTracker could also be used to predict the number of searches for particular keywords from a particular country, in my case Australia. I've been browsing through their website, but can't find any info. on this? Is this function included in their full version? Thanks for your help so far! |

I have had great success from Enhance and 7Search (but not without some time spent on the phone) I have a ppc 101 guide in my sig you can check out, along with a 98% complete ppc list along with phone numbers. Good Luck ps. Get a log analyzer! Last edited by GaryTheScubaGuy : April 24th, 2006 at 05:15 PM. |

Read my posts (ppc 101) and (ppc 102) and 103 is soon to come. You can' just throw some money out there and expect the sales to start rolling in. PPC is a science and definitely requires homework. seach ppc 101 and ppc 102 in the search bar up top |
