Pay Per Click and Search Engine Spiders??

Please excused my ignorant question.... But if im running some type of pay perclick rotator, even perhaps Adsesense, will a spider or bot which goes thru the site follow that link??

And if so, do I receive a click for it???

Lastly, I have a site which is only about two to three months old, and it's doing well, it's at a PR of 3 but im still gettin gback links. It's going to get about 1 mil hits hits month, and I am curious how can I turn that into revenue?? What are some going rates for say banner placements?

I know this stupids but I am stupid when it comes to this stuff..

THANKS

AdSense, YPN, etc. use Javascript. The vast majority of bots do not follow javascript links.

Revenue can come from selling advertising (PPC, banner, text link, etc.), memberhips (premium content, etc.) or selling something (direct or indirect via an affiliate program). You have to choose what will work best with your audience.

So what would be a standard for say 468x60 banners? And what is better charging by Impressions or by clicks?

Are there any resources that teach these kinds of things? ahha a "how to make money with your website for dummies" perhaps haha????

Banner ads are usually sold on a CPM (Cost per thousand impressions) basis. If you have high traffic, you naturally set your pricing packages at a sufficient bundle of impressions to last a month or so based upon your average traffic.

You can also charge per click, but then you open a can of worms with investigating fraud should the advertiser complain of such.

Search around script d/l sites like hotscripts.com and you should find a number of suitable banner ad scripts that will automate most of the details for you.

P.S. I forgot to welcome you to SEO Chat! Stick around and keep reading. Before long, you will grok it all.

You can always use Google Adwords, but I am pretty sure that they pay per click, not impression. I agree that if your site has such high traffic you should go with pay per impression ads.
