New google instant search and adwords

Does anyone know if the new Google instant search that went live today affects a PPC ad's impressions numbers.

For instance, if I have a PPC ad running for the keyword "watch", my ad will be displayed when someone is typing in "watching your weight". Does this ad display count as an impression? I would hate to have all of my broad keywords CTR's being skewed due to instant search.

I can see long-tail keywords becoming much more lucrative than these broad keywords if this is the case.

Ultimately, the ads that will get displayed, will be the same ads that a searcher would see under the old model, after typing in a query and pressing the search button.

However, it would be interesting to see what would happen to intermediate ads that pop-up before one finishes up typing the query. If anything, betting on parts of searches might ultimately be a good strategy.
