Exclamation Negative Keywords - How to find them?

Hi

I was wondering what ideas any one has about finding the right negative keywords to add to a Google PPC campaign.

I've been using Google Analytics for sometime, but I reckon it only tells me the keyword ad group that has been triggered and does not tell me the phrase that was keyed in and thus caused the ad to show. Is this right??, if so it's not a lot of use negative keyword wise.

I know I could look at my stats, but that is going to be really long winded and it still won't tell me which ad group to add which negative keyword too.

Any advice much appreciated

One of the easiest ways to find negative keywords is to run a report that AdWords only recently has allowed. This occurred after I made that linked post. It is called the Search Query Performance report. It tells you what users typed in that triggered your keywords whether you are bidding on broad, phrase, or exact.

Often times Google will show your ad for some unrelated searches if bidding on Broad or Phrase, but that should not stop you from using it in a cost effective way. It won't tell you ALL queries, oddly but it is better than it was before.

Also, this report uncovers some great terms that you can peel out and create new, more targeted adgroups with in order to achiever higher CTRs.

Use Google Labs... It is one of the easiest tools for this kind of thing and it will show you the most popular searches containing your keywords. You can then evaluate which of those relate to your business and get rid of the rest.

We need to use the negatives keywords only when we are using the broad match for keywords. Using Adwords, you can easily find the negative keywords, but there is one practical way to find the negative keywords. just search your keywords in Google search and in the search list you can easily find the extra keywords with your keywords are appearing.
