More Value for money than google and overture?

OK guys juts starting to look at PPC in addition to SEO. Overture and google are the obvious biggies, but has anyone else encountered other PPC suppliers that give better ROI or ROAS generally?

Which could be an alternative?

I'm specifically interested in providers that would be good for the UK market.

Many have success with MIVA (formerly Espotting). See http://www.miva.com/uk/
Of course results will depend on the type of market that you have.
You should also check into Mirago (see http://www.mirago.com/) and Turbo10 (see http://turbo10.com/) as UK based PPC search engines.

I also focus on the UK market in my ppc campaigns and have been using Google, Overture and Miva. Overture and Google have been cost effective but in my experience, Miva was extremely bad value for money with massive losses.

As per first reply, it depends on the market you are going for and the product... just be careful and whatever you do, track everything.

Noj,

I am focusing on the travel industry, a very different market to what you are working on. It looks as though the campaigns you will be running in will need a varied range of tactics- your audience potentially being very different to each other and the services/products varying widely.

Miva is a very popular ppc provider and maybe my experience was an exception but there were days when the campaign was costing hundreds of pounds without ANY return- something completely unacceptable. If there is no problem with spend, the branding potential offered by Miva can be beneficial but difficult to measure. Overture and Google work well for me- I can easily maniplate ad text, track my positioning and and follow the results.

Noj,

I have worked with Google, Overture and Miva. All of them can work if you carefully monitor the RoI on each keyword and weed out the ones that don't work and extend on the ones that do. Having a good tracking system is vital with any work you are conducting. The days of spending loads on search marketing and not justifying results are quickly coming to an end.
