"Monthly Search Volume" VS "Est. Clicks"

Hello,
I am a new member on SEO Chat, and I am learing about SEO and pay per click.

I don't understand anything about "Monthly Search Volume" and "Est. Clicks".

On this example:

Keywords Monthly Search Volume Est. Clicks
calgary web design 2,647 132

Why will I have just 132 click on 2647, if I am at the top ?

Is This information real ? I toke this information from Overture. or Is better try and test each word.

Thanks a lot !!!
WillyMan

Depends very much on the ads you are running compared to the keyword used.

0.5% strikes me as low. I can get 10% CTR with a narrow well targeted add.

I'm happy with anythign over 5%, 2% is acceptable, id consider myself doing badly with anythign under 1%.

I'd say if construct your add well you can get much better rates than 05% CRT from a term that well focused. Test it and see, I think overture is bneing cautiosu on you.

If you are at the top but not getting clicks, I'd bet that the keyword phrase is too general. In other words only a small percentage of the searchers are actually looking for what your ad copy describes.

Try to target search phrases that are more specific to what you offer. This will increase your CTR. It will also increase your ROAS since clicks will have a higher probability of coming from potential customers.
