Looksmart

Hello

Without success I tried to find information about Looksmart Pay per click services in this Forum. I hope I dont write about something that has already been written about.

I am paying for Looksmart advertising. As I dont know the results the amount invested is small.

A few days ago I went into the Looksmart control panel and found that 200+ click were made in the last 10 days. 200+ is what I maybe get together in all targeted markets in Overture and campains together in Google.

Looksmart only gave me three engines URL (Looksmart, Infospace and CNet Search) and then talked about 100+ other sites. But in my server log I do not find these 200+ clicks.

I wrote about this to Looksmart and asked them for a log with timestamps and url. But I do not want to loose more time so I ask you to tell, if you know something about these 100+ sites that cooperate with Looksmart. And maybe tell about your experience of Looksmart.

Last year we had good experiences with Looksmart and Altavista.

Thank you,
Stellan

I too have had a huge increase in activity for Looksmart, after remaining realatively steady for 2 years. I'm checking my log files for July now...

Thumbs down LookSmart

Looksmart is supporting pop unders and charging them as clicks, I have canceled all my listings as they are the worthless.

I have used a number of PPC services and Looksmart never gave a lot of conversions, regardless of the clicks brought in. Not one of the Top Notch PPC services in my opinion.

Hello Danny! This looks like the answer to the problem. What is a "pop unders"?

A pop under is like a pop up window, except that it appears behind the current window you are looking at. I think it stops people from instantly clicking out of the pop up.

In other words, as an ad tool, a pop up is a piece of $hit. I doubt anyone gets any decent conversion rate with those.

Visit the most comprehensive Las Vegas Real Estate and Henderson Real Estate website online. Or look at pictures of my Parrot

Thumbs down Just Cancelled LookSmart this month...

...because, although they claimed I was getting Lots of click throughs, my logs were not showing it. I canceled this month as soon as my account was filled - showed no clicks and full balance. I deactivated all ads and requested a refund. The response to that was that I had received 167 clicks on the before I canceled and so there was no money left in the account. My logs showed 3. I would stay far, far away from LookSmart Listings.

I also cancelled my LookSmart account a couple months ago because the quality of the traffic was terrible.

Yeah, they have really gone downhill since their agreement with MSN was terminated.

This is exactly what happened to me not too long ago. Perhaps it was "Let's screw our customers month."
