Keyword suggestions for unusual gift site

the site is http://www.ownapieceofamerica.us. It sells a very unique and unusual gift idea.....look at the site and see for yourself...

The problem is I am having trouble deciding on which keywords to target....I think unique gift and unusual gift would be best....

You should have decided on this at the very start (prior to buying your domain name)

Think of terms you want your site to rank for. Think of niche and unusual gift related keywords that have high searches and low competition.

Gifts is a very competitive industry and you need to really zero down on some unique gift related keywords to have a decent rank in the SERP (at least in the top 30)

The domain name is fine......It is somewhat of a brand...the product has been around for a while and most of the customers enter by directly typing the url into browser or searching Own a Piece of America.

See, you already got one of your primary keywords

This is something for you to figure out, you make a list of probable keywords for your site and put it here for us to see and suggest.

But spoon-feeding on this basic and crucial step will definitely not be a good idea. You want to master this skill yourself, don't ya ?

All the Best

You're right, it is a very unique gift that might not bode well for the same market as those typing in "buy land in Texas." You are going to have to definitely make some compelling ads if using AdWords. The content network may serve you well, since the product has to be explained and not something users will be on "active search mode" to find.

In Your Ads
Use prices and be very specific in your ads, so you weed out non-buyers. You will want to do a lot of promotions, or specials, for holidays, Father's day, Mother's day. If you do use "unique gifts" also buy the same phrase with the word idea or ideas stemmed to end.

Try Radio
This is somewhat challenging because people do not normally think of a gift like this off hand. For years I have heard a radio commercial on one of my favorite talk stations for getting a star named after a loved one for $50. The gift is the certificate of authenticity. If they have been doing it for years at one of the most expensive time slots, it must be working.

Buying Media Time
You might call around and get rate cards from radio stations. The best buys the weekends or late at night or the weekends, some spots as low as $25. There are books out there with tactics on "how to get cheap media" through negotiation or last minute buys. Or consider Google's new radio network, which can be found on the AdWords interface. You might also to give away a "free report" to get people on an opt in list. Your email messages will have to be pretty creative for the content, but it can be done.

Gift Sites

There are many "gift sites" such as findgift.com that allow you to submit your and display an image & description of your product while only paying a wholesale cpc. You might even try shopping comparison sites or other less expensive ppc routes on consumer engines: Yahoo!, MSN, Ask.
