Any tips on finding out if your getting fake clicks to price you out of your spot?

Very low to zero conversion would be a good indicator. Also, look for batches of hits in your stats from similar IP's or at similar times of the day. Basically, any abnormal traffic patterns which have developed since you began the campaign.
Google is pretty good at detecting this, but just to be sure, email them and tell them you suspect someone is defrauding you. I am sure they will investigate. Unfortunately, this happens alot. Personally I'd shoot all the fraudsters in the butt if I had the chance. It's totally immoral. |

It's very common in warez communities where searchers for warez try to find cracks for their favorite apps only to find the crack doesn't exist, and sends a tornado of popups each representing a click that generates revenue for the pirate

since you have to use adwords, you would have to trust google, and google will give you refund when it detects fraud clicks
