Espotting allowing generic terms...

I've been doing PPC for years, since the beginning and wanted to know if any other people have had the horrible customer support I've had from Espotting.

1st off...their support has been the absolute worst in my experience with the PPC campaigns I participate in (Overture UK, Overture US, Overture Germany, FindWhat, Sprinks, Google, LookSmart, and more).

Here are a few of my "boggles" with them, I'd like to know if you have had the same experience.

1. I submitted 5 mass inclusion spreadsheets a few months back. I was never alerted to their approval or disapproval, they got everyone of my banners/logos mixed up with each other...EVERY one, and the worst part of it was...they went to our site and stole our logo and used this as a banner on their site for our listings. They did this WITHOUT contacting us, without our permission, and didn't notify...we heard from one of our international distributors.

2. They disallowed a listing for using the abbreviation (win) in the following description: ....."our software runs on Win 95/98/NT". They said I need to use "windows" so I wouldn't confuse anyone....unbelievable.

3. They allow EBAY to compete in the rankings...for just about every type of Keyword. The worst part of this...they ALLOW EBAY to direct the CT to a landing page that is another search engine. AND>>>>>>> The response I got after I challenged can be summed up as “their CT page is relevant. It points to a category about computers and when you do a search on it…it gives you 84 listings for “print server”….. Great, so what Espotting is saying…. They’ll let advertisers buy up PPC keywords so when you search on Espotting, you get a result, that when clicked on, brings you to another search page.

Great, really good for your visitors Espotting.

A disappointed customer

I noticed you posted this in more than one forum...either you're really really upset, or you want to get rid of Espotting.

I've never bothered signing up with them myself, so I can't say how good/bad they are.

I didn't post to more than one forum on this site...just on the other sites I participate and moderate. I'm very upset with their track history, not just with us, but others I've talked with at the Search Engine Strategies conferences and Internet Marketing conferences.

My only experience with them to date has been awful, but since they were voted the #1 European PPC engine...I tolerate it. Just wanting to know how others would feel if what I stated happened to them...
