Unhappy Embarrassing Click Through Rate

My site, http://laserpointerforums.com, gets about 12000 ad unit impressions per day, and the click through rate is only 0.1% every day.

Note: even when all of the ads are about lasers, I still have a lowly click through rate of 0.1% per day.

What can I do to make my ads get more clicks? Do they look bad, should I move them?

Any advice/opinions greatly appreciated.

Regards
Avery

I'm guessing you probably have content network turned on. Go into your campaign and click on Edit Campaign Settings. Under networks uncheck the Content Network (It's default is "on" when you start a new campaign). Also, you should try to have your keyword in your title, somewhere in your description and in your url (www .domain.com/keyword). For the description try to have a benefit on the first line and a feature on the second line. Check out what your competitors ads look like and come up with something better. To check your competition and not add up anymore impressions of your ad you can check by going into your Adgroup and on the keyword(s) put the mouse over the magnifying glass (the Ad Diagnostic Tool) and you can do a mock search that won't add anymore impressions and therefore won't hurt your CTR.

Hey, I think you might have misunderstood. I'm using the yahoo publisher network. My goal is to get the ads on my forum more clicks, but I'm not sure what I can do to make the ads look better - or better places to put them.

location of your ads is important. Try to blend it in with your other colors
