Does Yahoo! Owe You Money? Lawsuit Memorandum
Today I received an email from the “claims administrator” for a class action law suit against Yahoo! Search Marketing. It was addressed to:
ALL PERSONS THAT PURCHASED, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, YAHOO! PAY-PER-CLICK TEXT ADVERTISING IN THE U.S. MARKETPLACE I. Why Did I Get This Notice? You received this Notice to inform you of a proposed class action settlement (the “Settlement”) that may affect you. The Settlement was entered into by the parties in an action entitled In re Yahoo! Litigation, Case No. CV-06-2737 CAS (C.D. Cal.) (the “Action”). The purpose of this Notice is to inform you that a class has been certified in the Action and to inform you of the terms of the Settlement. You may have received this Notice because you were identified as a present or former pay-per-click advertising customer of Yahoo! Inc., Overture Services, Inc., or GoTo.com, Inc. (collectively “Yahoo!”). This Notice explains your legal rights, and how and by when you need to act. Read the rest of the Yahoo! gets sued letter. I might end up getting a check. Be on the lookout for this email. You may have a check coming your way as well.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I can remember on two occasions when large companies were sued (BMG and PayPal), and I ended up getting a check for at least $20 from the settlement. It was funny, one said if you had bought a CD any time between 2001 and 2003 you were owned money because the money-grubbing CD companies overcharged or something.

Looks like you get a whooping $20 IF you are out of business.
Otherwise they agree to put some wording where it should have been already and give you some options they should have implemented ages ago. Oh well. No cash for me.
