Battling for primary kws - Is position worth it?
A few months ago, I could buy clicks for my primary kw at about $0.60 and be in a top 3 spot, which was great. Now there is a ton of competition in the marketplace and a top 3 spot costs about $1.00, which is just too expensive, even with a 15-20% conversion rate. I've dropped myself out of the top 3 for cost effectiveness. This means half the clicks, but at half the price.
Are there some situations where the top 3 are just overpaying for clicks? I know its possible that maybe they have better ads so they are paying less, but I'm not sure thats the case. My ad has been split tested for about a year now, theirs are much newer. Any advice on how to move forward?
