Hi,
We have an e-commerce site and run Adwords ads for our products. We are thinking of using dynamic landing pages. By dynamic landing pages I mean we want page headers reflect (echo) the keywords people searched with. For example, if they searched for a brown ceiling fan, we want our page header to be “brown ceiling fans”. My questions are: 1)Would dynamic keywords on landing pages help with our quality score? 2)We really think that it may help with our conversions since people would see exactly what they searched for on our landing pages. Do you think it can really help with conversions? 3)What is the best and easiest way to add dynamic keywords to our landing pages? 4)Our landing pages are pages from our web sites. Would it affect our web sites value in terms of SEO? Can we get banned or punished by SEs if we do this? Thanks |

If the ad text and the landing page have direct relevance to the user query then the quality score of the page will definitely rise. For example, say a user searches for mobile phones. If your ad text contains "Mobile Phone" as the ad text and the landing page also gives details of mobile phones then the quality score of your page will rise. Quote:
The conversions are likely to rise since you are presenting the exact thing that the users are willing to see. Quote:
Analyze your products well and then set your targetted keywords. You can get the details : http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=74996&topic=12396 Quote:
No your site will not be banned or punished by SEs Thanks.

Dynamic Keywords
Hi erdem3227,
1)Would dynamic keywords on landing pages help with our quality score? Yes, that is one thing that Google looks at. I would also test several ads, using dynamic kw insertion once for each adgroup. Watch closely and eliminate the non-converters. 2)We really think that it may help with our conversions since people would see exactly what they searched for on our landing pages. Do you think it can really help with conversions? Yes. The sooner someone finds what they are looking for the less they will search elsewhere. The key once they are on your page is having a professional look, a good CTA (call to action), and a good price. 3)What is the best and easiest way to add dynamic keywords to our landing pages? Php would be my method. If you do it this way, also include the kw in your page title, meta tags, headers, and at least once instance in the first paragraph of the first sentence if you have content. I typically have the php pull the title into all of these elements. (Don't over do it though). 4)Our landing pages are pages from our web sites. Would it affect our web sites value in terms of SEO? No Can we get banned or punished by SEs if we do this? Using the pages for PPC landing pages? No Generating dynamic elements? No, in fact it will help the pages rank better. Cheers, GaryTheScubaGuy |

Focus your time on high traffic terms
Since August of 2007, Google has REALLY increased the amount of weight they put into what's on the landing page for PPC ads. You can see a considerable difference in your average CPC just by having a few mentions of the keyword you're bidding on.
BUT I'm not sure how they go about sending their automated bot to check out the landing page. If they go through by using some keywords in the header, then you're set...but even so I doubt this would last long as Google would catch on that any person that develops a dynamic set of landing pages can then have their entire keyword list integrated into those landing pages. HOWEVER It will certainly help with conversion rates as the people landing on the page will always see something dynamic that speaks to what they're searching for. If you have to pay more to get them there since Google doesn't deem the landing page as relevant then it still would be worth it. CONCLUSION Do the dynamic pages but keep in mind that this might not help lower your CPC...but will increase conversion rates. Most important. It's easy to get caught up in developing a huge keyword list to get as much long tail traffic as possible, but it's truer now than it was a couple years ago that you can have the most impact on your bottom line by simply taking the keywords that have the highest traffic and rigorously testing different ad copy, positioning and most importantly landing pages. If you have a keyword or small group of keywords that drives most of the traffic and converts at a decent rate (let's say 1%), then making a small change on that page to target it towards those keywords could essentially double your profits just by increasing the conversion rate to 2%. I hope this makes sense. -Brian |

You need to test.
Why don't you use Google Optimizer Tool. It's free: http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/ |
