Ad Sense
Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right section to place this, but here goes... With all the hype about Ad Sense by Google, does the webmaster actually make any money? How is this any different then banners, except they are smaller? I've seen people put it on the side, but when I saw them at the top, they looked terrible. Why take biz away from your own site? Thanks & take care Michelle |

My thoughts also. I'm toying about putting it on one of my sites, but I really don't' like wrecking the design. I figured maybe I can stick it off to the side and it won't look too bad.
I'm only wondering about how much daily traffic would be a guideline as to when it's worth the trouble to actually change the site to put it on. |

I run some content sites, and earn good money from AdSense. I generally put them off to the side, not the top because I don't like them there either.
The text ads don't really resemble banners that much, but AdSense does run images now too, which I refuse to have on my sites. If I'm feeling subtle, the AdSense ads are placed with the border the same color as the ad background, which is the same color as the page background. The ads blend in nicely then. Some sites work better with more apparent ads, however, and that is just a matter of testing. I get 100-200 unique visitors a day, most of whom visit more than one page, so I get a good number of AdSense impressions, but I can't share specific AdSense numbers with you. |
