The role of Baidu is increasing in SEO

Is there any particular reason to give good amount of time to Baidu instead of other social sites?

If you are focused on selling to China for been found by the Chinese then Baidu is the place you want to be.

If your market is in the rest of the world then you should probably just focus on Google.

yeah I don't think they even allow non-chinese advertisers, so if china is your market, baidu is nice. I've seen them crawl my site many times.

Ive been on Baidu for about 2 years now and they send me nothing as far as visitors. Searches for Google that I am in top 5-15 for I am in Baidu in 1-5 spots. Mostly 1-3, I rank very high in Baidu in some really nice searches according to google keyword tool.

Yet no traffic from Baidu but 1-2 a day.


Although, I know their stock went from about $50 a share in early 2010 to $175 a share a few months back. So they are growing in stock market by huge gains. Still wish I would have bought Baidu stock, hard to sleep sometimes.

For Chinese area, Baidu is still the best choice for search engine.
There is no doubt that the popularity is increasing.

How does one get to Baidu like what we do to get to Google? Will the strategy will be the same like the other US search engines or what?
