Back to one of the questions in this topic... Does anyone know of any statistics on the user loss between page 1, 2, 3, etc.?

That would depend on the SE. This question does not belong in this topic though. Try posting this question as new topic. The subject in this thread is Whether or Not Yahoo will abandon Google for Inktomi.

But I am sure if you start a new thread with this question you will get answers.

Update on Yahoo:

I recently spoke to my sales rep at Yahoo who informed me that there is no plans to dump Google. The most likely thing to happen is that Yahoo will split their SERPs between Google and Inktomi. They have a lot of customizing to do to Inktomi before they are ready to use it as a primary source for Search Results. Google's contract ends in 2004 but Yahoo is in no hurry to drop Google.

Remember Googles relevent results are what contribute to the quality of Yahoo and if they make any sudden moves then their advertising value will decrease, lowering revenues and stock price. Yahoo has no plans to compete head to head with Google. They earn PPC revenue from Overture and Paid inclusion revenue from Inktomi. Both of these revenue streams are good additions to the exsisting advertising revenue stream that they do not want to upset.

So rest assured that Google and Yahoo will remain in bed together for at least another year or so.
