Yahoo Still leader in my opinion

I was a top google fan till recently.....

I have been optimizing primarily for google and still realize its importance because of the Yahoo!/Google sharing... but I have new found respect for the Yahoo! directory...

I recently was added to the Yahoo! directory... One of my sites that was added used to get about 100 or 200 hits per month in Google...

Since it has been in Yahoo I have recieved over 4000 hits in the last 3 weeks!

Not Too Shabby.....

Well according to Alexa, Yahoo is the most popular site in the world. And its directory pages do very well in terms of hits. And getting 4000 in 3 weeks compared to what u used to get is pretty damn good. I like to use yahoo to search, because it uses their directory and it searches google too. Not to mention it puts 20 results on a page from google !

No i dont see the things like you! My Page is listed on first Place in Google and on good Position in Yahoo Index. I get about 3500 Visitors every Week from Google and from Yahoo there are only about 200. In Germany Yahoo is not big - I get more Hits from Fireball than from Google!

I would like to hear from you again. Are you still generating that much traffic from Yahoo!? It is very possible that since you were a 'new' listing in Yahoo! you were at the top of the directy listings, plus in the new categories...thus gaining higher placement with more visibility due to the icon.

Please let us know.

in regard to 'giving you a great description' - you can choose your description. Of course they change it but you email them back and they will change it to what you want.

I have changed my description several times since i first listed with them.

They make the change always within a week of the request.

Unless you are as luck as me to get an idiotic editor who does not understand the point of your web site who denied my request.

They go through thousands of requests per day. You have to give a valid reason in a sentence, or else your just wasting their time. Be straight to the point and confident and they will satisfy your request.

I've had no luck getting a description change as I wasn't the original person to submit the site. Any ideas on how to go about it? I have submitted the change form (once a month for 5 months!) and emailed with no response despite telling them what I want and why.
